NetSTAR Inc. is striving to offer the world's premier filtering technology and expertise and thus create an environment in which people worldwide can use the Internet securely and efficiently.
As part of this mission, NetSTAR considers the secure operational management and protection of all the information assets that it possesses to be one of its paramount business challenges.
With a view to surmounting this business challenge, NetSTAR has formulated its basic information security policy as detailed below, and is committed to its implementation and promotion.
1. Scope of protected information assets
All information that NetSTAR obtains or learns in the course of its business activities, or that it retains in the course of its operations, falls within the scope of information assets that NetSTAR will safeguard.
2. Information security management system
In addition to establishing an information security committee (an umbrella organization for information security), NetSTAR will appoint a Chief Information Security Officer (CISO) and assign this officer the authority and responsibility for applying and enforcing this basic information security policy.
3. Security measures
Recognizing the importance of information assets, NetSTAR will provide appropriate protection from threats such as unauthorized access, loss, leakage, alteration, and damage. Furthermore, in the event of a security incident, NetSTAR will investigate its cause and rapidly implement countermeasures so as to minimize its effects.
4. Compliance
Cognizant of the laws and regulations that relate to information security and of the contractual requirements placed upon it, NetSTAR will aim to achieve thorough compliance by means of training and education.
5. On going improvement
By means of regular audits, NetSTAR will evaluate the suitability and effectiveness of its information security countermeasures, which are based on its basic information security policy, and continuously seek to improve them.
