STARTIA, with a client base of 30,000 firms, adopts NetSTAR’s Site Umpire filtering service for its network equipment rental service

- Adding further value to their already popular monitored rental router offering -

TOKYO April 20th, 2009

NetSTAR, Inc. (headquarters: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; president: Noboru Ogahara; hereinafter “NetSTAR”), a developer of URL filtering product technologies and services, also involved in the collection, categorization, and delivery of URL lists, hereby announces that its “Site Umpire” filtering service for small & medium networks has been adopted by STARTIA, Inc. (headquarters: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; president: Hideyuki Hongou; TSE Mothers code: 3393; hereinafter “STARTIA”) as an option for their “Digit@link Managed Gateway” network device rental service.

STARTIA serves over 30,000 small & medium businesses, comprehensively suggesting and providing office infrastructures, from office facilities to network maintenance services. “Digit@link Managed Gateway” is a network equipment rental service that STARTIA has been offering since 2007. As a single-package service that provides everything from equipment installation to maintenance and monitoring, the service has been adopted by many small & medium businesses that do not have a full-time system administrator.
NetSTAR, on the other hand, has been offering its “Site Umpire” filtering services for business routers since 2007. Since Site Umpire is designed to run on a router, it allows for a significant reduction of operation cost in comparison to existing software alternatives. As such, Site Umpire is quickly gaining popularity amongst a range of enterprises, including small & medium businesses monitoring their employees’ Internet activities for the first time, as well as sales branches of larger businesses.

Starting on April 20, NetSTAR’s “Site Umpire” will become available as an optional filtering service for STARTIA’s “Digit@link Managed Gateway YAMAHA router series”. Users will be able to install URL filtering alongside their new network, thus substantially reducing the initial installation effort. With the provision of “Site Umpire” through STARTIA’s service, NetSTAR is anticipating further adoption of “Site Umpire” by small & medium networks.
The optional service will be supported on the YAMAHA RTX1100, RTX1200, and RTX1300 routers. Existing "Managed Gateway” users may also request to add Site Umpire to their current service. For service details and purchase information, visit http://www.intranet-tech.com/rental_router.html.

NetSTAR will continue to collaborate with various partners in an effort to provide the global community with safe Internet access across a wide variety of platforms.
