(headquarters: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; president: Noboru Ogahara; hereinafter “NetSTAR”), a developer of URL filtering product technologies and services, also involved in the collection, categorization, and delivery of URL lists, hereby announces that as of March 20, its entire operation has been accredited with the ISO/IEC 27001:2005 (JIS Q 27001:2006) international standard for ISMS (Information Security Management System) certification.

NetSTAR is conducting its operations to become the “World’s number 1 in filtering technology and know-how” and provide a “safe” and “efficient” Internet environment to users around the globe. Our market share (based on value shipped) in Japan for corporate filtering products now stands at over 40%. In the field of mobile web filtering, currently in the spotlight as a means for promoting the sound upbringing of youth, our URL lists have been adopted by all mobile phone operators in Japan. It can be said that NetSTAR is a key player in the establishment of the Internet infrastructure, both in name and reality.

Under the situation, we consider it an important management task as well as a social responsibility to take adequate measures to protect our information assets from security risks and practice secure administration. To this effect, we have made a continuous effort to establish a company-wide information security management structure.
Now externally accredited with an international standard, NetSTAR has proven that its ISMS is at a level capable of withstanding objective evaluation by a third party.
NetSTAR will continue to maintain, practice, and build upon its ISMS in an ongoing effort for improved and strengthened management.
