(Headquarters: Chuo-ku, Tokyo; President: Tatsuji Ashibe; hereinafter “SO-TEN”), a developer of agent-free PC asset management systems,

“LogVillage 2.0” is an agent-free client monitoring/management software for client operation management, assent management, operation log collection, and file management. The latest version, released on March 17, offers an enhancement of the web access management feature.

While most client monitoring/management software provide a means for collecting web access logs, few offer measures for utilizing the collected log data. In most cases, the system administrator would have to judge the contents of the accessed websites using keywords, URLs, and web page titles. Needless to say, such a process is a huge burden for system administrators who must often deal with large amounts of log data.

LogVillage 2.0 offers the “URL categorization” option as an additional feature that references NetSTAR’s URL list to plot a categorized graph of the collected log data, thus allowing the system administrator to easily grasp the trend in web access. Data can be analyzed on an enterprise, department, or individual level. Furthermore, alerts can be configured for each category, making it possible to take immediate and timely actions against user access to potentially harmful websites, such as a malicious website attempting to spread a virus.
NetSTAR's URL lists hold a share of over 40% in the Japanese corporate market, and are adopted by all mobile phone operators in Japan.
