TOKYO March 16th, 2009
NetSTAR, Inc. (Headquarters: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; president: Noboru Ogahara; hereinafter “NetSTAR”), a developer of URL filtering product technologies and services, also involved in the collection, categorization, and delivery of URL lists, will be delivering a lecture on March 18 at the "7th Seminar on Children’s Safety in the Internet Age,” to be co-hosted in Yokohama, Kanagawa by the Kanagawa Prefecture and the Not-for-Profit Organization of Information Security Forum (hereinafter “NPO ISEF”).
In response to various efforts to provide the children with a safer, crime-free Internet environment, such as the “Bill on the Improvement of the Environment for the Safe Use of the Internet by Children” going into effect in April, Kanagawa prefecture and nonprofit organizations have been co-hosting a series of seminars for municipal employees and educators.
Under the belief that a correct understanding of the underlying workings is essential for the popularization and utilization of filtering services, NetSTAR has also been providing information through lectures and online portals. At the upcoming seminar, NetSTAR will be presenting a lecture entitled “Recounting Filtering for the Sound Upbringing of Youth,” which will cover the workings of filtering services, preparation of URL lists, necessary policies for utilizing filtering for the sound upbringing of youth, and upcoming challenges.
NetSTAR will continue to engage in educational activities and development of related technologies in an effort to provide the global community with safe Internet access across a wide variety of platforms.
