NetSTAR, Inc. (headquarters: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; president: Noboru Ogahara; hereinafter “NetSTAR”), a developer of URL filtering product technologies and services, also involved in the collection, categorization, and delivery of URL lists, hereby announces that Manax Co., Ltd. (headquarters: Shiga, Japan; president: Mitsuru Kitamura; hereinafter "Manax”) has adopted NetSTAR’s URL list for the “Castanet” filtering software for educational institutions, which will be released on April 1, 2009.

Manax develops and distributes security products designed specifically for educational institutions. They offer a complete lineup of security solutions, with a focus on security servers. The “Castanet” filtering software for educational institutions was released in 1998 as an option* for Manax Security Server, a single-server solution that provides various security features.
*Also available as a standalone product.

On April 1, Manax will be releasing a new version of its Castanet software. The new version will use NetSTAR’s URL list in place of Manax's proprietary list, thus dramatically increasing the update frequency of the URL list and providing the users with up-to-date protection at all times. Users will now also have access to over 70 URL categories, allowing them to configure more detailed filtering rules. Both of these updates have been receiving favorable feedbacks during the trial initial sales period started in January.

NetSTAR's URL lists hold a share of over 40% in the Japanese corporate market, and are also adopted by all mobile phone operators in Japan. We are proud to announce that Manax has chosen NetSTAR for the proven track record and quality, as well as the well-recognized accuracy and categorization standards of our URL lists.
