NetSTAR to present at the mobidec2008 conference for mobile phone businesses

- Revealing future plans as a business providing URL lists to all domestic mobile phone operators -

TOKYO November 13th, 2008

NetSTAR, Inc. (Headquarters: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Noboru Ogahara; hereinafter “NetSTAR”), a developer of URL filtering product technologies and services, also involved in the collection, categorization, and delivery of URL lists, will be delivering a lecture at the "MCF Mobile Conference 2008” (herein after “mobidec2008”) conference for mobile phone businesses, to be held in Tokyo on November 28, 2008.

This year, we’ll be celebrating the 8th opening of mobidec, the largest event in Japan for mobile phone businesses. Under the common theme of “Major transformation of mobile phone businesses: Evolution of mobile phone websites and the rules for success, ” a total of 33 sessions will be offered by a diverse range of presenters, from mobile phone operators and contents providers to the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications.
As a leading vendor of filtering products and services, NetSTAR provides its offerings to businesses and schools, and has a domestic market share of approximately 40%. Starting with NTT DoCoMo’s “Kid’s i-mode” (now “i-mode Filter”) in 2005, NetSTAR has also been involved in the mobile phone market, and currently provides URL lists to all mobile phone operators in Japan.
The “Bill on the Improvement of the Environment for the Safe Use of the Internet by Children” was passed in June, requiring all mobile phone operators to provide a filtering service. With filtering now an increasingly significant factor in planning mobile phone businesses, NetSTAR, an expert in the field, will be sharing its viewpoint at this year’s mobidec.
The session to be presented by NetSTAR is entitled “NetSTAR’s involvement with mobile phone filtering services,” and is scheduled as Session C-9 (17:10 – 17:30). The session will include information such as suggestions for improvement from the viewpoint of a URL list provider.
Reservation is required for participation. For details, visit the official website for the mobisite2008 conference at http://www.mobidec.jp.
