NetSTAR to present at Trend Micro DIRECTION 2008

- Raising an issue concerning the restriction of access from the workplace to participative websites -

TOKYO October 28th, 2008

NetSTAR, Inc. (Headquarters: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Noboru Ogawara; hereinafter “NetSTAR”), a developer of URL filtering product technologies and services, also involved in the collection, categorization, and delivery of URL lists, will be delivering a lecture entitled “Should blogs be banned in the workplace? Today’s management requirements” at “Trend Micro DIRECTION 2008,” to be hosted by Trend Micro Incorporated (Headquarters: Shibuya-ku Tokyo; CEO: Eva Chen; hereinafter “Trend Micro”) on November 13, 2008.

On November 13, Trend Micro will be hosting “Trend Micro DIRECTION 2008,” a private conference aimed at showcasing its latest technology frameworks and products, as well as introducing examples of technologies and products adopted by its partners.
As a supplier of filtering technologies and URL databases to Trend Micro and various other partners, NetSTAR will be supporting the conference as a “Gold Sponsor,” and will also deliver a lecture to share its expertise in web usage risks and Internet access management.

The lecture to be presented by NetSTAR is entitled “Should blogs be banned in the workplace? Today’s management requirements,” and is scheduled as Session F1 (13:00 – 13:40).
Participative websites such as blogs and forums are becoming increasingly popular as online information sources. While the gathering and transmitting of information on such sites are becoming an important if not essential part of work, there are also concerns from the management perspective, such as loss of credibility and leakage of information resulting from inappropriate postings. During our session, we will organize the latest issues in Internet access management, and discuss the future direction.
Reservation is required for participation (free admission). For details, visit the official website for the DIRECTION 2008 conference at http://direction2008.jp.
